No, this isn't going to be a rant on Twilight. Just a run-in I had today. I was up at Josh's, and so was Karen. She was watching Twilight with Sarah. Josh and I were going downstairs, when we see the girls watching the movie. We race downstairs and slam the door. We then discussed plans on grabbing our electronics and foodstuffs as fast as we could. As we got the food, the girls didn't understand that Twilight was a chick flick.
We tried explaining to them that it was a gender issue, and that the movie wasn't for guys. They still didn't understand. Then we said, "How about Alien VS. Predator. The movie is for guys, not girls. It's more mature." They respond, "But it has cussing and blood!" I said, "We're talking about a gender issue here, not a parental view. Guys like more 'mature' titles." Still, no idea. We gave up and left.
Please tell me that this isn't just me, and that you agree that some movies, such as Twilight, are for girls, and some movies, like Alien VS. Predator, are for guys.

How is it not a chick flick? And we still gotta watch AVP, man.
It's a chick flick. But, not as "chick-y" as some other movies. At least there is some action in it.
Yeah, I know, I know.
I agree, it's not as "chick-y flick-y" as Sex in the City or Desperate Housewives, but it's not really "action-packed" either.
